Volunteering with GOSH Charity
Volunteers are an essential and trusted part of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity). They provide a wealth of perspectives, skills, knowledge and lived experience, and many have a personal connection to the hospital too.
Working with charity staff, volunteers extend our reach, connect with supporters, and help to achieve our shared mission of giving seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer.

More about our volunteer roles
We have a range of roles for volunteers – some are recruited for throughout the year, and some we recruit for at specific times. Here are examples of some of the roles we currently offer:
Event Makers
If you enjoy the buzz of events, speaking to new people, and developing or using your communication skills, this is the role for you. Our fundraising events usually take place on weekends or weekday evenings and are perfect for people who want to help for a short amount of time two or three times a year. You could be handing out medals after a race, signing people in, stewarding and welcoming guests or cheering on tired runners!
Office reception hosts
These volunteers are based in our central London office and provide a welcoming environment to all office visitors, including supporters and interview candidates. You’ll be asking people to sign in, messaging staff to let them know their guest has arrived and ensuring visitors feel comfortable and welcomed.
Charity Hub hosts
Based at the Charity Hub in the hospital, this is an exciting role that helps to spread the word about the charity and how people can get involved through events and fundraising activities. This role is great for people who love to chat as it involves frequent conversation with families and staff. You’ll also accept donations and sell our range of charity merchandise, such as pin badges and teddies.
We also recruit for general administration, research and customer service as and when we need the support.
