Brendan's story

"Friendship has worked miracles in our son’s treatment."

Being in hospital can be a scary and unsettling time for anyone, especially young patients. Seven-year-old Brendan and eight-year-old Louis come to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) every eight weeks, where they are treated for CAPS, a rare, auto-inflammatory condition, which if left untreated can cause rashes, joint pain, fatigue and hearing loss. Here their mums explain the difference having a close friend at the hospital has made to their sons’ experience.
