Peter Pan Centenary 2004

Peter Pan was performed for the first time on 27 December 1904 at the Duke of York's Theatre, London. In 2004, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of that performance, GOSHCC held many Peter Pan themed fundraising events throughout the year.

The popular TV series Lost Boys was released on DVD and video
to celebrate Peter Pan's 100th birthday.

Peter Pan Treasure Hunt and picnic
17 July 2004
Kensington Gardens will be transformed into Neverland, with Captain Hook, pirate ships and a picnic feast.

Peter Pan Book Launch and exhibition
9 September 2004
Publication of Peter Pan and Wendy, the GOSHCC-endorsed centenary edition, with an exhibition of the book’s illustrations on board the Golden Hinde.

Peter Pan Charity Ball and Treasure Hunt
25 September 2004
A glittering ball and ‘Neverland for the Day’ Treasure Hunt in Jersey.

Music for Life
3 October 2004, Royal Albert Hall
Yehudi Menuhin School Charity Concert will include a reading from Peter Pan.

Christmas Lights
15 November 2004
Oxford Street are planning a Peter Pan theme for the 2004 Christmas lights.

16 December 2004
Peter Pan and J M Barrie memorabilia under the hammer at Sotheby's.

19 December 2004
A major celebration to conclude the Peter Pan Year at the Duke of York's Theatre.
