Christmas Appeal 2026

Serious illness doesn't stop for Christmas. And neither does childhood.

This Christmas, your donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) could help bring comfort, hope and joy to seriously ill children and their families at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

  • Bring joy to the wards: Our specialist Play team helps make hospital a bit less hard and a lot more fun, giving children opportunities to play, create and express themselves.
  • Keep families close: Our accommodation near the hospital means parents and carers with a child in intensive care can be there from early morning present opening to bedtime stories and goodnight kisses.
  • Give hope for tomorrow: We fund pioneering research into rare and complex childhood illnesses, helping researchers search for better, kinder treatments – and giving more children hope for many more Christmases to come.

Your donation matters this Christmas

Meet Arliah

Shortly after she was born, Arliah was transferred to GOSH. She had her first major operation when she was just 24 hours old.

For her parents, Carmela and Sean, Christmas that year looked very different from the one they’d imagined. But there were still moments that made it feel special. “It definitely felt like Christmas time,” Carmela says. “It was so nice to see Arliah's face light up.”

Arliah loved spending time with the Play team, who help make hospital a lot more fun, and taking part in Music Therapy sessions. Charity-funded accommodation near the hospital also meant Carmela and Sean could stay close. “If we needed to be at Arliah’s bedside in the middle of the night, the accommodation meant we could be. It helped my family so much in the most difficult times,” Carmela says.

Your Christmas donation could help bring comfort, hope and joy to patients and their families. With your support, loved ones can be together, kids can enjoy just being kids and researchers can keep working towards a future where more children can look forward to many more Christmases.

What is the GOSH Charity Christmas Appeal?

Every year, our appeal brings people together to support seriously ill children and their families at GOSH.

Because while Christmas in hospital might include tests, treatment and nights away from home, childhood carries on.

Your donation will be used where it’s needed most to help the children and families at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
