How playing the raffle helps support GOSH

Childhood and cancer are two words that should never go together. But, sadly, around five children in the UK are diagnosed with cancer every day.

GOSH already cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers, and pioneering research is underway to find the most effective treatments and cures, which give hope to children and their families.

Every ticket you buy in our New Year Raffle will help to build the Children's Cancer Centre at GOSH and save more lives.

Together we can build it. Together we can help beat childhood cancer.

Joshua's story

Buying a raffle ticket in our New Year raffle will help to build a new, world-leading Children's Cancer Centre at GOSH and give more children like Joshua (pictured above) a chance to lead happy, healthy lives.

Joshua was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) when he was just 5 years old. After two-and-a-half years of treatment, the family were told he had relapsed and would need a bone marrow transplant.

Things seemed to improve after the transplant, and Joshua was able to ring his end of treatment bell in 2017. "We assumed that would hopefully be it and we could get on with life. But he started to gain a lot of weight and his personality changed," his mum Vicky says. "That's when we found out the cancer was in his spinal fluid - he had relapsed again."

Joshua came to GOSH to participate in a cutting-edge CAR-T therapy trial in March 2018, which modified his own immune system cells to attack cancer cells. He's now 14 years old and four years in remission. He visits GOSH yearly.

You can help make a difference to children like Joshua by playing our New Year Raffle today. Thank you.
