Tobar reaches £100k

Congratulations to @Hawkin's Bazaar and parent company Tobar who has raised more than £100k for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH) since 2014, through fancy dress, bake sales and selling the special Hop for GOSH purple space hopper (see video above). Patient Mia-Rose and her sister recently featured in a thank you video for staff and customers, using GOSH space hoppers donated to the hospital to help with physio treatment. The video will be shown on TV screens in all Hawkins Bazaar stores. Hoppers can be bought in store or from the GOSH shop.

Corporate Challenge, sponsored by PageGroup

We had over 40 teams take part in an Olympic distance team triathlon at Woburn Abbey in September and together they raised over £50,000! The teams from companies including PageGroup, Dalata Hotel Group, ADM Milling, Premier Inn and Restaurants, XTX Markets, iCandy and Lazard, battled it out for glory along the scenic routes around the grounds of the Abbey in the sunshine. Well done and a huge thank you to all who took part. We are looking forward to next year’s GOSH Corporate Challenge already!

Lazard’s 5k Fun Run

Well done to the team from Lazard who completed the company’s annual 5k Hyde Park fun run, Lazard Laps the Lakes. Since June Lazard employees have raised an impressive £18,500!

Butlin's complete the Monopoly style team building challenge
Butlin’s Monoply Challenge 

Congratulations to Butlin’s Sales and Marketing team who completed our Monopoly style team building challenge and raised a phenomenal £11,000! The Monopoly Challenge saw 8 teams of 5 race around London in a bid to get as many points as possible. Points were awarded for selfies at Monopoly locations and each team had to complete a bucket collection on the day – the team who raised the most money got the most points! Butlin’s enthusiasm was incredible and made this event a huge success. To find out more, you can visit their blog here.  

Sophie’s Steakhouse at Christmas

This Christmas, both the Covent Garden and Chelsea restaurants are running a festive competition. Printed on the back of each children’s menu, young diners are encouraged to Sophie's Steakhouse competition (2.14 MB) for the chance to see their artwork used as the official Sophie’s Steakhouse Christmas card for 2016, as well as winning a meal for their family. With a suggested £1 donation the money raised will go towards supporting our hospital Play Team.  

Uni-ball collaborates with GOSH

Thank you to uni-ball and all their customers who have raised £22,000 though sales of the uni-ball eye pen. For every GOSH branded pack sold uni-ball will donate 20p to the charity. Also uni-ball are teaming up with website Cult Pens for a festive promotion. Each company is donating 10p for every uni-ball pen sold on the website during November and December. Thank you Cult Pens and uni-ball!

Thomsons Thames Challenge

The team at Thomsons held their second Thomsons Thames Challenge in September. They swam, ran and cycled on Boris Bikes (among other methods) to traverse the distance and have raised an amazing £55,000!

Morgan Stanley’s 24hr London to Paris Cycle Challenge

On 9 – 10 September, 150 employees from Morgan Stanley cycled 266km (166miles) from Morgan Stanley’s London office, via Dieppe, to Morgan Stanley’s Paris offices in just 24 hours. The 150 cyclists included teammates from Frankfurt, Glasgow, New York, Zurich and London, and together raised an amazing £220,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity

Suppliers head to Wembley to fundraise for GOSH

Vernon Kay hosted Premier Inn and Restaurants annual gala dinner at Wembley Stadium, attended by 200 of their suppliers. From ticket sales, a raffle and an auction featuring over 55 donated prizes, the evening raised an incredible £228,000! 

Ascential Fundraisers

Ascential has been very busy fundraising for GOSH of late, taking part in two fantastic fundraisers. The first being a skydive, which took place on 25 September and saw a total of 37 Ascential employees jump out of a plane and freefall 12,000 feet. Overall this raised an incredible £13,000. On 27 September, they held the Ascential Charity Golf Day at Hever Castle Golf Club, which saw their clients and suppliers compete on the golf course before enjoying a gala dinner and raising money for GOSH through bidding on a brilliant collection of auction prizes. This raised over £25,000 and will go towards their overall target of £100,00 to fund an isolation bedroom in the Premier Inn Clinical Building. 

Ascential skydivers

Monarch customers raise £63,000

Our partnership with Monarch has taken off with news that passengers donated £63,000 from in-flight donations in August and September. Thank you Monarch customers and cabin crew.
