Time's ticking to take on the Taskmaster…unleash your creativity and raise dosh for GOSH
23 Jul 2020, 11:33 a.m.
Alex Horne, comedian and star of TV comedy hit Taskmaster, is teaming up with a host of famous faces to challenge the nation in a brand new, mission-driven fundraising campaign in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity).
Alex has joined forces with GOSH Charity to launch “GOSH Taskmaster”, inviting competitors to unite their wit, skill and playfulness this summer and take on hilariously mind-boggling weekly tasks set by star supporters. Contestants will gather sponsorship as they take on the tasks raising vital funds for seriously ill children cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
An exciting mission will be set every Thursday from today, 23 July…will you rise to the challenge, and raise money for an incredible cause?
Task one is set by Alex Horne, and challenges you to write your name, the largest possible, using only household objects.
Unleash your hidden talents, record your best efforts and share with @GOSHCharity on Twitter using the hashtag #GOSHTaskmaster and you could be in with a shot of featuring the “Hall of Fame” compilation of GOSH Taskmaster’s best bits, shared each week across the charity’s social channels.
Alex Horne says: “If, like me you love a challenge, then you'll really like GOSH Taskmaster. It’s an excellent blend of summer fun as well as a brilliant way to raise money for a truly fantastic cause. And it couldn’t be (much) easier – film yourself taking on the weekly GOSH Taskmaster challenge, share it with GOSH Charity on Twitter, and you could win a coveted spot in the Hall of Fame each week. I am very excited to see what the nation comes up with!”
Laura Savory, Deputy Director of Community Fundraising at GOSH Charity says: “We are so excited to have launched GOSH Taskmaster and cannot wait to see what our supporters come up with as they interpret the challenges set by our celebrity friends! After a difficult few months, we hope that this light-hearted, mysterious, mission-driven fundraising activity will help to create some happy and uplifting memories this summer. The money our supporters raise by taking part will have a huge impact on seriously ill children from across the UK, and their families, who are cared for at the hospital.”
Money raised by contestants gathering sponsorship as they take on the weekly tasks will support seriously ill children from across the UK cared for at GOSH, and could fund pioneering medical research, state-of-the-art equipment, support services for children and their families, and the vital rebuilding and refurbishment of the hospital.
GOSH Charity is grateful to entertainment agency Avalon, for kindly providing permission for use of the “Taskmaster” name, enabling more funds to be raised for the seriously ill children cared for at Great Ormond Street Hospital. More information about the original Taskmaster programme can be found at https://taskmaster.tv/ or @Taskmaster
Visit GOSH Charity’s Twitter page @GOSHCharity every Thursday throughout the summer to check out the latest task, and upload your efforts using #GOSHTaskmaster
