Brighton Marathon runners raise £120,000

Brighton marathon 2014

Last weekend over 150 amazing #teamGOSH runners took on the Brighton Marathon, raising an impressive £120,000 towards the redevelopment of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Among the runners were Dean Martin and Ben Beckwith, who will be putting their running shoes back on to run another 26.2 miles at this weekend's London Marathon, and the hospital was represented by head of nursing Jilly Hale. There were also celebrations at the finish line where John Watson waited on bended knee to propose to his girlfriend Hayley as she completed the race (she said yes!)

The money raised by the runners will help fund the redevelopment of the hospital, replacing outdated wards with modern, spacious facilities which will enable a parent or carer to stay comfortably by their child's bedside.
