As we gear up for the 2023 TCS London Marathon, we’ll be introducing you to some of our incredible Charity of the Year team.

GOSH Charity CEO Louise Parkes shares why she’s signed up to run the London Marathon for GOSH Charity and why every mile matters.

GOSH treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the most rare and difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.

Now, TeamGOSH is helping to take the research, technology, facilities and care GOSH delivers to the next level.

Proud to be the Charity of the Year

"My name is Louise Parkes and I have the honour of being Chief Executive of GOSH Charity.

“I’m a passionate fundraiser, and this will be the third time I’ve taken on the iconic London Marathon.

“I’m thrilled to be taking part in 2023, and to be raising money to support children’s cancer care at GOSH.

“The TCS London Marathon is one of the world’s most famous events, and we are so proud to be the official Charity of the Year for 2023.

“When I found out we had been chosen, I was absolutely delighted. I knew instantly that I wanted to be one of the runners taking part to raise vital funds for GOSH Charity as two of my family members have been treated at GOSH. It is a cause close to our family’s heart; we have been supporters for many years.”

One step closer to beating childhood cancer

“[People should support TeamGOSH] because the difference you can make to some of the UK’s most seriously ill children will be utterly transformational.

“It takes cutting-edge medical technology, pioneering research, child-focused environments and essential family support services to tackle serious childhood illnesses and rare conditions like childhood cancer.

“The money we raise together, by taking part in the TCS London Marathon, will take us one step closer to beating childhood cancer. Your efforts could help change and even save the lives of seriously ill children from across the UK. We’re ready to go, and I can’t wait for you to join us!”

"Cannot wait to see the streets lined in a purple GOSH wave"

“The TCS London Marathon really is one of the most incredible days and this year we’ll have our largest team of runners ever.

"I cannot wait to cross the start line alongside them, and see the streets lined in a purple GOSH wave made up of our fantastic volunteers and supporters, willing each and every runner on.

“I know so many people in our team will be running for very personal reasons, often because their child or someone close to them has been cared for at the hospital, and I could not be prouder or more motivated to be running on behalf of GOSH this year.

“I know the support on the day will be phenomenal and the difference the money raised will make is extraordinary. I’d like to thank everyone who is part of TeamGOSH, we couldn’t do it without you."
