Sir Michael Rake appointed Chairman of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust

Sir Michael Rake, currently Chairman of the BT Group plc, has been appointed as the new Chairman of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust and will take up the position in November 2017.
Sir Michael Rake brings to Great Ormond Street Hospital a wealth of successful leadership experience in business and service industries at KPMG, easyJet, BT and the CBI. He is a Senior Business Adviser at the Chamber of Commerce and Chatham House, and Vice President of the RNIB.
Sir Michael Rake said: “I am honoured to be given this opportunity to serve such a well-loved organisation which makes a dramatic difference to the lives of children with rare diseases in the UK and elsewhere.
“It will be a great privilege to work with leading clinicians and researchers who deliver world-class care and pioneering research in collaboration with key partners.”

Sir Michael Rake was appointed as Chairman at a meeting of the Members’ Council in May 2017.
