Help give seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) the best chance and the best childhood possible by fundraising with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) using these ideas throughout the year.

Every fundraiser, big or small, helps fund life-saving treatment, pioneering research and support for children and families at GOSH.

Fundraising ideas to suit your calendar

Birthday or celebration fundraiser

Turn your birthday or a special occasion into a fundraiser by asking for donations instead of gifts. Set up a fundraising page for your celebration to make it easy for people to give.

Celebrate a cultural or religious festival

Use a celebration that’s meaningful to you, such as Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year or Hanukkah, as a moment to bring people together. Host a meal or gathering and invite contributions to take part.

Spring

Sell your unwanted items

Spring clean season is the perfect time to declutter and sell your pre-loved items online or at a local sale. Donate the money you raise and turn your clear-out into a simple way to fundraise.

Host a spring playdate or family fun day

Make the most of longer days and warmer weather by bringing families together for a playdate or simple games in the park or garden. Ask for a small contribution to take part or run a raffle or games to raise money.

Summer

Watch the match and fundraise

Bring people together to watch a big sporting moment, like a summer football tournament or Wimbledon. Run a sweepstake using our fundraising sweepstake posters, collect a small entry fee or invite contributions on the day, and make it a social event with themed food and drinks.

Host a summer BBQ fundraiser

Get people together for a BBQ or garden party and turn it into a fundraiser. Add simple outdoor games, music or a raffle, and invite guests to contribute to join in.

Autumn

Host a back-to-school fundraiser

Use the start of term as a chance to bring people together to swap outgrown uniforms, clothes or toys. Ask for a small donation to take part and turn a practical activity into an easy way to fundraise. Why not throw in a classic bake sale to fuel that raring-to-go energy!

Run a sweepstake for your favourite TV show

Make the most of autumn TV with shows like Strictly Come Dancing or The Great British Bake Off. Run a sweepstake on the winner, charge a small entry fee and keep everyone engaged each week.

Host a Halloween party

Turn Halloween into a fun way to raise money with fancy dress, music, games and spooky snacks. Ask for a small entry fee or run a raffle or competition on the night.

Winter

Christmas fundraiser

Turn festive plans into a fundraiser with a quiz, raffle, or even a gift-wrapping station for friends, family or colleagues. Explore our festive fundraising ideas for even more inspiration, and invite people to take part with a donation while making the most of a time when everyone is already coming together.

New Year challenge or reset fundraiser

Start the year with a personal challenge or goal and turn it into a fundraiser. Whether it’s getting active, giving something up or trying something new, ask people to support you and help make a difference for seriously ill children at GOSH.
