The Children's Cancer Centre
No childhood should be cut short by cancer
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) cares for children with the hardest to treat cancers.
Breakthrough medical discoveries are giving hope to children across the UK, but these advances have outstripped GOSH’s current cancer facilities.
We need a new home for cutting-edge treatments and pioneering research, so we can save more children’s lives.
And because kids with cancer should still get to be kids, we need a place that's more than a hospital – that's a school, a playground, a garden, and so much more.
Join us to build the new Children’s Cancer Centre at GOSH and help beat cancer for more children.
A new generation of hospital
The Children's Cancer Centre at GOSH will mean better facilities, kinder treatments and bigger breakthroughs.
Step inside the plans for the new cancer centre by watching our video below.
The new centre will include:
A 20% increase in capacity, offering life-changing and life-saving care for more children with cancer.
Digitally advanced inpatient wards tailored to children with cancer, allowing children to stay connected with loved ones in a ‘home from home’ environment.
Access to clinical trials for families with few treatment options, and continued research into effective cancer treatments with fewer long-term side effects.
A new critical care unit with dedicated family breathing spaces and on-site accommodation, allowing families to stay together at the most challenging of times.
An increased focus on nutrition, physical activity and wellbeing for children with cancer, supporting their recovery and improving outcomes.
New imaging technology that better reveals what’s happening inside cancer cells and improves GOSH’s diagnostic capability.
A new hospital school with more capacity for learning and play. Different age groups will have dedicated areas designed with their specific needs in mind.
A sustainable environment with green spaces and a roof garden, so young patients can still have time outside, even when they can’t leave the hospital.
Be part of it
There are lots of people making sure that children with cancer don’t miss out on their childhood.
Doctors. Builders. Researchers. Play teams.
And you.
Here’s how you can join us to build the future of children’s cancer care at GOSH:
Who you'll be helping

Meet some of the children and young people at GOSH
Jennah was treated at GOSH after being diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was just five years old.
In February this year, she rang the end-of-treatment bell. Now, she goes back to GOSH every three months for an MRI scan.
Today Jennah is walking without a walker, riding her scooter again, and recently joined an after-school dance club.
