Thank you so much for thinking of the children and families cared for by Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) at your loved one’s funeral, memorial service or celebration of life.

Supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) in their memory is a meaningful way to honour their life and help give seriously ill children fuller, funner and longer childhoods.

How do I collect donations?

We want to make collecting donations as easy as possible for you during this time. Here’s what we recommend:

  • Create a free MuchLoved tribute fund, which is shareable with friends and family. Add photos, videos and memories to your page and revisit as often as you’d like.

  • If you’d like to organise a collection yourself, you can email us to request collection envelopes so that friends and family can make a donation when you come together to remember your loved one.

  • If you’re using a funeral director, they may be able to help organise the collection and pay in the donations on your behalf. Ask them about the options they offer and let them know you’d like to raise money for GOSH Charity.

You may wish to let family and friends know they can make a donation in memory of your loved one. Some common ways people do this include:

  • Including a note in a funeral notice or invitation, asking for donations instead of flowers
  • Adding a short message about donations in the order of service or funeral booklet
  • Including a message in a remembrance or prayer card
  • Asking someone to mention the donation request during the service and share why you chose to support GOSH Charity
  • Mentioning the donation request after the funeral at a wake or celebration of life event
  • Pay in donations online
  • Email or call us on 020 3841 3131 for details of paying by bank transfer
  • Please send cheques (payable to GOSH Charity) or Gift Aid forms to: In Memory Fundraising, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, 40 Bernard Street, London WC1N 1LE
  • If you’ve fundraised using MuchLoved, there’s nothing you need to do – the money will make its way straight to us

    If you’d like support following the death of a child cared for by GOSH, you can contact the hospital bereavement team.

    The Child death helpline is a free phone service for anyone affected by the death of a child. Call their helpline on 0800 282 986.

    If you’re grieving for someone who wasn’t a patient at GOSH, you can find information or speak to someone online or over the phone through Cruse Bereavement Support.

    If you’re supporting a child or young person who’s grieving, you can find support from Winston’s Wish.
