Suppliers of Premier Inn and Restaurants rally to support GOSH

Last month, suppliers of Premier Inn and Restaurants rallied to raise much-needed funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), as part of the Premier Inn and Restaurants charity partnership. Over 50 guests spent the day clay pigeon shooting, buying raffle tickets and partaking in various fundraising games.

Managing Director at Kuehne + Nagel said: “It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and coming together for such an important charity event. What an achievement on raising over £23,000. The funds will certainly help the lives of many children needing life-saving treatment at GOSH!”

Last year, Kuehne + Nagel, long-term supplier of Premier Inn and Restaurants, raised over £30,000 alone for GOSH.

Contactless collections take over Tesco stores

From Friday 9 March to Sunday 12 March, GOSH Charity staff and volunteers were out in force bucket collecting at a staggering 500 Tesco stores across London, with help from Tesco staff.

We also trialled our brand new contactless buckets across five of Tesco flagship stores in London, which proved to be a great success and went down very well with their customers who weren’t carrying cash!

Egg-cellent fun at the patient's spring party

Volunteers at the Patient Spring Party

Patients, siblings, families, friends, staff and volunteers came together to mark Easter in a celebration of colour and fun at the GOSH spring party. Eleven fantastic corporate employees from our partnerships with Lazard, Royal Bank of Canada, Qlik, Premier Inn and Restaurants and XTX Markets played a key role in the event, taking part in many of the activities with the children, from creating flower crowns to face-painting and egg races.

Ascential ascend 5200 ft in 12 hours

Sixteen brave fundraisers from Ascential took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge for GOSH Charity. The gruelling challenge involved the intrepid adventurers trekking 24 miles in 12 hours and battling 5200 ft of challenging peaks. The team raised a whopping £6,693.66, which will go towards an isolation bedroom in the Premier Inn Clinical Building. Well done Ascential!

Peter Rabbit visits GOSH patients as new product range is launched

To celebrate the launch of long-term partner Enesco’s new Peter Rabbit range, the man himself came to make a special visit to our patients. Peter Rabbit hopped his way around the wards giving out 60 of the soft toys that not only feature patient artwork but are also being sold to the public with a donation going directly to GOSH. Initial sales of the three products have proved extremely popular, with the limited edition piece almost sold out! You can buy your very own Peter Rabbit plush from our online shop

Murphy cycle 250 miles across seven counties

On 12 May, Rob, a Senior Commercial Manager from Leeds, took on a 250-mile overnight ride from Leeds to London in a bid to raise £5,000 for Murphy’s charities of the year, Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.

His epic journey saw him cross seven counties to end at the engineering and construction company’s headquarters in Kentish Town in north London. The cycle took over 20 hours to complete.

Meet our fundraisers

Clinique employees are focused on promoting the right skincare and hair products to ensure people are looking after themselves, and looking their best, but two members of the Clinique communications department, Beth Atkins and Steph Abram, will be putting themselves (and their appearance) through the mill by taking part in a Tough Mudder event in August. They will also be taking part in a Rough Runner event in September. As if this wasn’t enough, they have also signed up to the Stockholm Half Marathon.

Employees from Clinique have been supporting GOSH for over 10 years through the Kiss it Better appeal – set up to support research in children’s cancer. The appeal is soon to reach the £1 million milestone later this summer.

The duo were inspired to sign up for these events having attended the GOSH Charity Corporate Partnerships Better Together thank you event held earlier this year. That evening, they collected a plaque commemorating their years of support towards the Kiss it Better appeal and GOSH.

Following the event, Steph said: “We were left so inspired from last night that we decided to enter for Tough Mudder and Rough Runner. We thought we should do something challenging!"

Beth said: "It was really great to see how our support can help GOSH and the absolutely phenomenal work carried out there."

Best of luck to both of them as they take on this challenge and thanks to them and the rest of the team at Clinique for all their wonderful support over the years towards the Kiss it Better appeal and GOSH.
