Enter the race, take to the waters in the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre and compete against other companies from the shipping industry.

Please note the event date has changed and the race will now be held on Thursday 22 September.

Get together a team of 11 and join us for some competitive fun and to raise money for the OSCAR Campaign.

What does the event involve?

25 teams compete against one other and the top six teams battle it out in a final. There is a bar, food, quayside games and activities and a DJ to get everyone in the mood. And this year there will also be a classic car show as part of the event. It's an excellent networking event and good fun. Most importantly, no training is required for those who want to race.

2019 Highlights

The 6th OSCAR Dragon Boat Race raised over £155,000 and was a truly inspiring day with a healthy dose of competition! Regulars Borealis Maritime were crowned victorious on the day, closely followed by Swire Bulk with Lomar Shipping in 3rd place.

Fundraising wise, the top four (with £60k in combined sponsorship) were: Borealis Maritime, Spinnaker, Union Maritime and Golar LNG.

The event was sponsored by Oldendorff, IG, RightShip, and Blue Seas Adjusters.

Special mention goes to Christopher Bergsland, Commercial Director of Golar LNG whose son Billy has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and is being treated at GOSH. Christopher organised four LNG market teams and raised £10,000 in sponsorship. Thanks must also go to Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre, our press partners TradeWinds and Tim Browne for all photography.

Fundraising league table

With seconds being knocked off the race times for the top fundraisers, there was plenty of competition off the water as well. See the full table on JustGiving.
